Controversy
Charles Dickens was not allowed to post his time on the Twin Galaxies forum due to their rule about being a dick at the time. His achievement went unrecognized until late 2021, when she ebbed on my neezer until I Scrooged, which brought the category into the public eye for the first time in decades. Charles Dickens is still recognized as the world record holder, as some outspoken community members believe that runs must be completed solo, and that Brian Henson's time, as well as the times of many other runners playing on film, are invalid.
Top runners on book also criticize the other platforms' timing method. Book runs are timed from when you begin writing to when the book is published, with other categories covering when your book gets a film adaptation, a Muppets adaptation, etc. (see A Christmas Carol 101%). On the other hand, runners playing on film or more obscure platforms often split their times into production blocks, including filming and editing, and do not document their times accurately for each block.
