The Argotia Pokalo (Esperanto for Argotian Cup) is the primary international football tournament contested among Argotian national football teams. The previous tournament was held in Novaria while the next tournament will be held in Esperantujo.

Format

The tournament works in the following manner as of the 2024 edition:

  • The 40 national teams outside of the automatically qualified host nation are drawn into ten groups of four. The winners of each group qualify directly for the Argotia Pokalo.
  • The group runners-up advance to the playoffs, where there are five two-legged home and away fixtures. The winners of each tie qualify for the Argotia Pokalo.
  • The 16 teams are grouped into four groups of four. The group winners and runners-up advance to the knockout stage.
  • The knockout stage consists of the quarterfinals, semifinals, and ultimately, the final that will determine the champions of Argotia.

Eligibility to host the competition

The overall minimum capacity is 5,000 spectators, though 10,000 is recommended. The venue for the finals must hold at least 40,000 spectators.
