Doki Doki Panics in media

A "Doki Doki Panic" is a term I made up to describe a fact about something that is so widely known that it stops being a surprising piece of trivia. The name is derived from the widespread story of Super Mario Bros. 2 which doesn't need to be explained because you know it off the top of your head.

Unfortunately for me, there aren't many pieces of media with a fact as tied to its existence on the level of Super Mario Bros. 2 , so a better way to describe this would just be "fun facts" that appear on every "Top 10 facts you didn't know about X" video back when WatchMojo slop videos were at their peak.

Due to the way information works, you might not know about some of these, but that's okay.[citation needed]

Mascot Horror

  • Five Night's at Freddy's was an idea birthed from the characters of Scott Cawthon's previous game being compared to creepy animatronics.
    • Doki Doki rating: 4/5. This fits really well because top 10 facts/secrets videos and fnaf went hand in hand in this era.

Minecraft

  • Creepers were inspired from an accident involving mismatched values while modeling pigs.
    • Doki Doki rating: 5/5. This one was fucking inescapable in the early 2010s

Breaking Bad

  • Jesse Pinkman was originally going to be killed off by the end of the first season.
    • Doki Doki rating: 3/5. Lower rating because this only started being discussed in retrospect.

Spongebob

  • The character of Spongebob was originally called SpongeBoy, but the name was changed due to already being used by a mop.
    • Doki Doki rating: 5/5. I would actually give this a 0/5 for being fucking false, but in my opinion that's what makes it the best. It was so widely spread that people accepted it as a truth and kept citing people who cited it from someone else.

The Wiki Camp

  • Challenge 3: Edit War was reused from what was going to be Challenge 5 of the original Wiki Camp before it was cancelled.
    • Doki Doki rating: 4/5. Idk this feels very top ten listish even if there aren't actually lists of fun facts about the wiki camp.
