Esperantujo, officially the Republic of Esperantujo (Esperanto: Respubliko Esperantujo), is a sovereign state in the continent of Argotia, located in the Grass World. Its prevailing language is Esperanto.
Etymology
In real life, the name "Esperantujo" is used to refer to the global community of Esperantists, which numbered around 2 million in 1996. Around 120 countries have their own association of Esperantists.
The suffix -ujo is used to denote nations whose name comes from that of the prevalent ethnic group. For example, France may be called "Francujo", though "Francio" is the prevalent term for the country, as opposed to "Esperantujo" being the prevalent term for the Esperanto-speaking country.
