Did you know gaming: Did you know the boss Plantera is heavily inspired by the band Pantera? The metal music comes from the genre the band covers, and The Axe item it drops is a tribute to the guitarist of the band. It's achievement for defeat, The Great Southern Plantkill, is a reference to an album the band as well, known as The Great Southern Trendkill. This is because Cenx, one of the developers, really likes Pantera.
