The Mandelbrot set is the set of all complex numbers for which does not iterate to infinity. When plotted, it looks like that --->
Mandelbrot is a fractal, which means it is made of infinite smaller, self-similar parts. There are other quirks about it, but the most important part is that it looks neat. The largest splotch, for instance, is a cardioid.
