Rare images are images. They are rare because they are uncommon.
Like many trading games, collection is a large part of the scene. I personally enjoy collecting rare images and am working on finding every single image to complete my collection. Whenever I find a new rare image I am happy.
My favorite image is not common. It is quite rare, perhaps even uncommon. This is my favorite image.
There are many tiers of images. Rare images are rare. They are not common or epic or legendary. DO NOT GET THEM CONFUSED. There is a difference.
