The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is Toronto's public transit agency and the home agency of T Series Car 5134. It is the oldest and largest of its kind in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, with some services branching to other regions and connecting with various other agencies. The TTC operates four subway lines, nine streetcar lines, and over 1 bus.

As an agency of the City of Toronto, the City has full authority over the TTC's mandate and structure. The TTC is responsible to Toronto City Council through its board, composed of members of council and citizens, led by The Chair, a streetcar seat that gained sentience after someone spilled Ali Baba's radioactive hot sauce on it.
