This is a log of an attempt to simulate a series of a medieval fantasy game show called Raven.
Lore/Exposition
Many years ago, the sun hid behind the moon. And six strange symbols were forged in gold cooled in water from our deepest loch. And when the last symbol was complete, the sorcery finally returned to these shores. The trees and rivers sparkled once more. But soon a vile shadow rose to spread misery throughout the land. And only one who commands the spirits of truth and virtue can defeat the dark forces so unwittingly unleashed. I am Raven.[1]
Core mechanics
Contestants on raven (Known as Warriors) are split into three groups of six and they must complete a variety of challenges. Each warrior starts with nine lives. Warriors who successfully complete challenges will earn gold rings. Collecting nine gold rings awards the player with another life. Failing challenges results in the loss of a life. Losing all nine lives means you are eliminated from the game. On days 2-4(and 5 on finals week) the warrior in last place at the end of the day for their group must face an elimination challenge. Failing the elimination challenge eliminates that player from the game. If they succeed, however, the warrior in second to last place must face the elimination challenge, and so on until someone is eliminated. The two warriors from each group who complete the finale challenge on day 5 will advance to the finals, where the process is repeated with larger ring rewards and tougher challenges. The winner of finals week is then crowned ultimate warrior and wins a Staff of Power.
