-2 is when something sucks. -2 is a proper noun, a verb, and an adjective. It is a force of negativity, and should not be dwelled upon for extended periods of time.

-2ing a joke can be a helpful way to say that it's no good, and someone should go back to the drawing board and draft up a better one. But not everything should be -2ed, because then nothing is -2.

-2 is also currently the lowest number in current theory, as the inverse of 2. The existence of a -3 would first depend on the existence of 3, which is still unproven.
