Girl Host: Unidentifiable Breeze (女の子のホスト, Hepburn: Onna no Ko no Hosuto) is a slice of life dōjin soft visual novel developed by Girl Host Team. The game follows the members of Girl Host going through their day to day lives uneventfully.

The game is most notable for being built on the niche MediaWiki game engine, a decision members of Girl Host Team have often admitted to being "deeply stupid." Due to its peculiar choice of engine, Girl Host has yet to see an official port, though a dedicated fan has successfully ported the entire game to the Nintendo Entertainment System, albeit split into nine parts.
Plot
Girl Competitors bicker about things that don't matter a lot. Sometimes they do it while eating parfait or some other sweet. Sometimes they do it in train stations.
Development
As noted earlier in the article, the game's engine choice was a challenge to its development team that never quite paid dividends. Hours of labor went into about thirty minutes of playtime. People died. It wasn't very pretty.
The game's understated tone is in part due to this being the team's first attempt at releasing a visual novel, thinking it thematically simple and fun to explore.
Release history
Girl Host: Unidentifiable Breeze was first teased on April 6th, 2023. Originally independently published, it would soon release on May 1st of the same year although published by Host.
During an online stream by Girl Host Team they would officially tease Girl Host: Unidentifiable Breeze: Blossom (女の子のホスト花, Hepburn: Onna no Ko no Hosuto Hana), a re-release with "some extra side content." Its box art was also revealed during the stream. Blossom was set to release Q2 2024.[1]
Gameplay
Our scene is a quiet street that falls under no scrutiny. Its pavement is rarely used, and those who must pass through go through their routines unbothered.
After all, today's just another day. Nothing different from the last, save for the sudden summer breeze.
In this quiet street sits a building nary used, fitting its surrounding like peas in a pod.
Yet every week the halls of such a building would reliably be filled with chatter, to the chagrin of...

The game received mixed reviews from critics, but was universally acclaimed by audiences. Critics such as Johnny Reviewsman (Kotaku) criticized its short length, but celebrated its highly-realistic bickering and beautiful character designs. Reviewsman highlighted the characters' discussion of television as "poignantly quotidian," making him question "if boys were even real" while playing.
