Leaving off from where the first chapter ended for our protagonists, the game primarily follows the adventures of the vangabond freedom fighters; Avery Lockheart and Vance Greene, just as they've finished their travel through the many dangerous environments of the ruined post-apocalyptic world they reside in. Finally reaching the fabled Capital; The last city on Earth which they thought would hold the better future they longed for, they quickly realize all is not as they seem.

Story

Shortly after reaching the Capital, Avery and Vance soon uncover the horrific class and social divide orchestrated by it's totalitarian government. To make matters more complicated, many rival factions with differing ideas on how to run the Capital scour both the populated and abandoned sections of the City. As their new home grows more unstable, both Avery and Vance find their friendship strained as their grapple with who to side with in order to bring stability to the Capital. Their exploration of their new home nets them many new colorful and quirky allies and enemies, a long with the chance to re-encounter old ones from the previous chapter.

Gameplay

Much like the first chapter, Dyust takes heavy inspiration from 2D side-scrolling RPGs like Lisa: The Painful and it's many fan-games, with a unique added emphasis on puzzle solving. Many new features are added in order to spice up the turn-based combat that traditional RPGs follow, such as unique and complex status effects. The chapter also places higher attention on the gradual changes to the overworld that come about depending on the players actions, which affect which characters you can fight and interact with.

Unlike the first chapter where you were confined to both martial artist Avery and chemical expert Vance throughout the entire game, a number of characters residing in the capital can be recruited to aide them on their quest during Bad Idea. Although not mandatory, the game heavily encourages you to at least invest in having two or more party members to compensate for the more powerful, bulky, and abundant enemies. The party members you have access to depend on what choices you make and which faction you choose to side with throughout the game. Many party members, in addition to their play styles, also can interact with certain NPCS and objects in the overworld for unique effects.
