Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland was a country the northeastern part of Ireland within the province of Ulster. Formerly owned by the United Kingdom, the country of Northern Ireland was formed by Protestant unionists who stayed loyal to the crown, as opposed to the Republic of Ireland being backed by majority Catholic Irish nationalists. In the Irish Reunification of 2024, the counties formerly known as Northern Ireland were ceded to Ireland.
