Reindeer

The reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) is a large species of deer with a circumpolar distribution around the Arctic Circle. It is a numerous species, with some herds reaching up to a million members. It is also mistakenly referred to as the "caribou", but don't be fooled; it looks nothing like the real caribou.

Santa Claus has his own fleet of reindeer that only make one commercial flight per year. When grounded, they can travel up to 800 miles to find grazing grounds.
