The Alignment Scale is a scale used to determine how good or evil all sentient entities in a world are.
Summary
The Alignment scale quantifies every action a sentient being performs and assigns a points value based on how good or evil it is. Charitable actions, such as helping those in need, and choosing non violent solutions to problems gains you Good side points. Uncharitable actions, such as Thievery and unwarranted violence gains you Evil side points.
The Scale
The Scale ranges from 0 to 100, with 0 being Pure Evil and 100 being Pure Good. New Characters always start with an alignment of 50 (Neutral).
Popups
Every time you partake in an action that changes your alignment, you will see a popup in your vision once the action is completed telling you whether it gained good side or evil side points. If an action causes you to gain both good and evil side points, You will see an additional popup showing a net alignment shift to good/evil if one point total is greater than the other.
Influence
If a Character happens to be a protagonist, they can influence the alignment of their allies. Gaining influence with an ally makes their alignment more closely match the protagonist's. Losing influence with an ally makes their alignment stray further away from The protagonist's.
Bonuses and Penalties
The closer a character is to one end of the scale, the amount of points earned for that action changes. For example, if an Evil-Sided character did a Good-Sided action, then the amount of good side points earned is increased significantly. Additionally, If a very Evil-Sided character does more Evil-sided actions, then the amount of points earned for that action decreases.
Benefits of the Scale
Mastery
If a character reaches either end of the scale, they have achieved Good/Evil mastery. Doing so awards 3 bonus points to one of their attributes, which varies depending on what their class is.
Reduced Power Point Cost
If a character is a class that can cast Magic Powers, then the point cost for powers that align with their alignment is reduced by half(at maximum alignment). However, using powers that do not align with their alignment increases the Power point cost by 150%.(at maximum alignment)
