Chromista are polyphyletic eukaryotic organisms, containing DNA and organelles, that may either contain a single cell or multiple cells. The kingdom of Chromista is only proposed, but the referendum is still ongoing. Chromista are defined by their plastids containing chlorophyll ''c'' and surrounded by four membranes.
