Girl TF2

Girl TF2 is a competitive Team Fortress 2 team notable for being the highest level team to have an all-female roster. Their tag is gTF. gTF was originally started by Rena, Lum, and Terezi Pyrope, all of which have stayed on the roster to this day. On NerpaTF, the most popular Team Fortress 2 league, Rena is registered as the team leader. The team is currently in Invite as of Season 10, the highest division on NerpaTF.

Like any pocket scout, she plays around her demo and medic, playing with the pocket soldier to protect them from the flank. Both pocket members on this team are very good at denying bombers, so it is difficult to get a pick on medic or demoman while they are both alive. Judging from Terezi's streams, her calls seem difficult to decipher, but the team appears to be used to this. This only appears to cause a problem with substitute players and ringers.
Hitori Gotou	guitarhero	Hitori Gotou, better known by her screen name "guitarhero", is the other pocket member of gTF. She is one of the few remaining soldiers in the game that unironically runs stock shotgun instead of gunboats. Because of this, she also plays very close to her medic and demoman. Using the shotgun is considered her greatest strength and weakness. It lets her protect the combo (with Rena and guitarhero, gTF on average has the lowest amount of med drops per minute, according to logs), but also restricts her movement. If she is caught separated from her combo, she can be collapsed on without much opportunity to escape. However, she has a timid playstyle that complements her shotgun usage, so this tends to not happen. Critics also tend to point out the fact that she cries every time her medic dies.
Terezi Pyrope	gallowsCalibrator	TH3Y DON'T C4LL M3 T3R3Z1 P1P3S FOR NOTH1NG! (Note: Nobody has ever called her that). Terezi is the Demoman of gTF. She has great damage per minute on most of her logs, and is able to deal with feeding scouts far better than other demoman players due to her surprisingly high pipe accuracy. However, she is the most controversial member of the team due to her getting into flame wars both in-game and out. She has been banned for toxicity only a single time, but her reputation as an instigator is still well known across the competitive community. Though she has only been banned from NerpaTF once, she has been banned from many smaller competitive communities. When this is pointed out to her, she says "I N3V3R GOT 4 F41R OR UNF41R TR14L!"
Lum	invaderr	The final combo member of gTF, Lum, is the medic. Despite having a very powerful combo that can protect her just fine, she has demonstrated an impressive ability to stay alive when separated from the combo. She has one of the lowest deaths per minute compared to other medics in her division. Because of medics relationship with the rest of the team, both fans and critics of Lum are unable to determine whether or not this is due to the combo, her own skill, or a combination of the two. Early scrims and matches with Lum had a problem where she would get frustrated and end up zapping her own PC, making it short out and crash.
Girl Ishmael	callmeishmael	Girl Ishmael, also known as just Ishmael, is gTFs roamer soldier. Like almost every roamer, she uses the gunboats combined with the market gardener. Also similar to most roamers, she often goes for the flashiest play possible when she bombs. Critics of Ishmael often say that thinking about flashy plays instead of just winning can easily lead to major blunders, but fans of Ishmael respond with the argument "But it was sick".
Liy	zaza demonFile:Dagger-14-plain.png	Liy, also known as "zaza demon", also known as "brian griffin trickshot edit", also known as "med dropped to pibby glitch", is the flank scout on gTF. Due to her changing aliases at least once a month, she is registered on NerpaTF as just "Liy" instead of any of her aliases. Liy dies significantly more than any other player on her team, except for maybe Girl Ishmael. She feeds often and without hesitation, but her deathmatch skills make sure she often gets at least a single kill. Whether or not that kill is on an important class like demo or medic is a different story, but at the very least she ends up with a surprisingly even kill/death ratio. Compared to logs from earlier seasons, on average she dies less now compared to then. This is due to both better timing of when to feed, and her being able to escape. Whenever someone points out her feeding habits, she responds by saying something along the lines of "It's not a feed, it's an adventure."

File:Dagger-14-plain.pngRena uses "rena rena" as an alternative handle. Liy changes her handle too often to include every single alternative alias.

Historic Roster

Sauda

Class: Soldier (Roamer)
Was on the team when they were in open. Permanently ran half-zatoichi and would bomb with it. This is likely the reason she did not advance divisions along with the team.

Reimu Hakurei

Class: Soldier (Roamer)
Was on the team after Sauda. Everytime she tried to bomb, somehow every projectile in the server would disappear. Unsure if this was just a really weird coincidence or if she was cheating, gTF decided not to keep her on the team.

Vriska Serket

Class: Scout (Flank)
The original flank scout before Liy. It's not clear why she was removed from the roster. Some say that it's because of disputes within the team, others say it's because she was already in a challenge.

Map Preference

An image made by Terezi, but made public by Rena, with the caption "Rena just found an old image Terezi made for us when we were still in open! The strategy is a bit dated but it's fun to remember learning this map, I think, I think!"

Due to having a shotgun pocket, gTF historically tries to pick maps that favour scout (such as koth_product), and bans maps that favour soldier (such as cp_metalworks). Because product is their most played map, it also happens to be their strongest. Few teams try to ban it against them, though, since product is a preferred map pick on many teams. However, the map pick/ban meta against gTF hasn't developed as much as it can, since they have only spent a single season in Invite.

gTF vs. BOYZ

This match was played against "The TF2 BOYZ". This match is considered by Terezi to be the teams first proof of competence. Though, in fairness, Terezi often says that divisons below Intermediate "are about as hard as pubs", getting her lots of flak from low-division players. The match itself was 5-1 on map 1, and 5-4 on map 2.

20XX vs. gTF

Match Type: Non-Playoff Match
Map(s): cp_granary

This match is significant due to BOTH TEAMS having a player get banned for a month due to toxicity as a result of this match. Terezi and a member of 20XX got into an argument over in game chat. The specific reason given by NerpaTF moderators was "Please do not say ok*n! We don't want to be reminded of that UGLY thing!". The match was 2-1 for gTF, and with all three rounds ending prematurely due to the 30 minute time limit being reached. The results of all three individual rounds were: 2-0 for gTF, 1-0 for 20XX, and 1-0 for gTF.

gTF vs. SWAG

Match Type: Playoffs Finals (Losers Bracket)
Map(s) koth_product_final (gTF's pick), cp_process (SWAG's pick), cp_sunshine (gTF's pick)

This match is the final match of the most recent season gTF has played in. This season is also the first time they have played in the highest level division, making them being able to take third place, let alone make playoffs, an impressive feat. The results of each map were: 4-2 (gTF) on product, 3-1 on process (SWAG), and 1-0 on sunshine (gTF).
