Intelligence (The video game stat) is most often used as the core building block of characters who are magical or tech savvy.

While some classify the stat with general knowledge, a more specific definition is studious intellect. This makes a dichotomy of Wisdom and Intelligence where the former is knowledge through experience, and the later is knowledge through study.

Usages in Videogames

Magic

Most fantasy games use Intelligence as a way to scale a characters mana. This can create the basis of intelligence builds who's main function is being able to cast high level spells, the greater use resulting in more mana cost. Additionally, some games also have damage scale off of Int, increasing the benefit of investing into the stat.

Engineering/Tech

In games that take place in modern or futuristic settings, Int is sometimes tied to the progression of a characters critical thinking. This can be expressed in having Int thresholds for crafting or tampering with the world.

How much it helps in eating pasta

Intelligence could be useful in a pasta eating challenge for a number of reasons.

Prep

With prep time, an intelligent person could study ways to increase their ability to eat mass amounts of food. This includes learning proper form, training techniques, and even the adverse health effects of pushing too far past their limit.

The Eating

Intelligence wouldn't help much during the actual eating part. Unless prep time was given, the stat wouldn't be useful.

How much it helps in the real world

Not that much
