Mongoose

Mongooses are a family of small feliform carnivorans of the family Herpestidae. The best-known mongoose species is the meerkat, though other species exist, such as the banded mongoose. Mongooses are notable snake killers, and cobras are a worthy opponent. Even the black mamba is no match. This behaviour was first documented when Rikki-Tikki-Tavi saved a human family from serpentine intruders, namely two cobras and a common krait.
