A pearl

The pearl is the ultimate treasure. It is made by a doting oyster who simply wishes to present its best. Oysters spend at least 100 years compressing the latent perfection of the universe into a single point. The most concentrated perfect is thus at the pearl's very center, and going outwards through its radius introduces less and less dense perfection.

Pearls range in size depending on formation time and the natural wells and droughts of perfection depending on location. The smallest pearls are about as big as a sphere, but they can become as large as a globe. It is assumed that the clump of universe before the Big Bang was essentially a type of primordial pearl.

It eerily resembles a sugar lump. Its primary exporter is the Middle Eastern island nation of Bahrain.

Coloration

Most pearls are as close to pure white as feasible. Other colors may be introduced by feeding the incubating oyster food coloring. Other coloration may come about due to the introduction of bad vibes. Anger creates a pink pearl, sadness creates a blue pearl, etc.

Worth

Pearls are the most expensive thing there is. They are both rare and the product of strenuous labor. The journey doesn't stop at simply making the pearl, as it must then be bargained away from the oyster. Oysters typically accrue treasure chests' worth of valuables before giving up a pearl, so the bargainers seek to compensate their troubles with a high price tag. Pearls never go on sale.

Curse

Stealing a pearl from an oyster bestows the thief the Curse of the Sunken Lords. This is a nasty curse that stays on your clothes for up to 30 generations.

Lyrics

I spent a thousand sleepless nights
In wait of dreams I could not find
I walked a thousand empty roads
In search of signs to bring me home

With every breath I spoke your name
(With every breath I spoke your name)
And heard it rolling in the waves
(And heard it rolling in the waves)
Beneath a veil of ocean blue
(Beneath a veil of ocean blue)
I broke illusion from the truth (I broke illusion)

You said, walk to me and I'll find you
Call me and I'll show you
Hiding like a pearl for you
To heal and guide you
From deep inside you
Hiding like a pearl for you

And from the pulse beneath my skin
You called me to a source within
Where every layer revealed one more
A secret brighter than before

And at the heart there lay just one
(And at the heart there lay just one)
The root of all that I'd become
(The root of all that I'd become)
I watched the surface start to break
(I watched the surface start to break)
Free of form, free of shape (Free of form)

You said, walk to me and I'll run to you
Call me and I'll show you
Hiding like a pearl for you
To heal and guide you
From deep inside you
Hiding like a pearl for you.
