— Zugemu Zr., you little rascal! |
Zugemu "Zuzu" Zr. (full name: Zyugemu Zyugemu Gokou-no-Surikire Kaizyarisuigyo no Suigyoumatu Unraimatu Fuuraimatu Kuuneru Tokoro ni Sumu Tokoro Yaburakouzi no Burakouzi Paipopaipo Paipo no Syuuringan Syuuringan no Guurindai Guurindai no Ponpokopii no Ponpokonaa no Tyoukyuumei no Tyousuke Zunior[2]) is the official mascot of The Wiki Camp 2 (official). Zuzu is a little sail who was born from a Stony Pumpkin. This little sail has so much to tell you!

Biology
Zugemu Zr. is a whimsical little sael[official] who loves to frolic and play. He measures 3 thingamajigs long and weighs less than a pea, but more than a golden pea. It has a grey coat with splotches of dark brown fur all over, comparable to gravel or perhaps a nurphoingy. Despite its coarse appearance, Zuzu's fur is actually quite soft. It's said that even a single strand can bring about miracles. Zuzu molts in the late summer, during which geeks and gamers alike gather in droves to collect this highly-sought after material.
Zuzu's squishy body is capable of hardening as a defense mechanism. He can also curl up into a perfectly spherical ball, allowing it to traverse and strike enemies with ease! This is known as Zuzuball tactics.
Zuzu often spends his time squinching about in the water, but can adapt to any environment if need be. He has a reputation for bringing joy and happiness to those around him. However, he can be quite mischievous when the opportunity presents itself, that slippery little thang. His chicanery has earned him the affectionate title as the King of Tricks.
Zuzu is reborn once every five years, on a rocky shore away from the public eye.[🤫]
Mandate (official)
If this page wins 1st place in the challenge, Token:Zugemu Zr. and Zugemu Zr. will be canonized as Category:Mascot (official) as the official mascot[official] of The Wiki Camp 2.[official]
As a token
Many know that Zugemu Zr. is a little sail. This is a fundamental truth of the universe[tautology[official]]...But, did you know that Zugemu Zr. is also a token (official)?[nah] Yes, yes—it's true![official] A few new abilities arise from this...
When played, Zuzu gives the user a share out of sheer generosity, conjured out of thin sh-air. However, an odd thing is likely to sneak in with the share. Things are:
- Zuzemi Pyramidian: The Zuzemi Pyramidian is born out of a whirling sand gyre from an ancient pharaoh's tomb. It may latch onto a misfortunate competitor and burden them with awful quicksand. This causes the competitor's challenge entries to be graded last, as well as causing all of their other in-game actions to be treated with the lowest priority, or resolved in the most inconvenient order. Its arid grip only worsens the more the target struggles.
- Zuzuphone: The Zuzuphone jams all communication lines with pointless drivel. This may cause strange stipulations to be enforced during challenges, or redirects targets of token plays. However, it is important to note that the Zuzuphone wants nothing more than to have a lovely chat, so please do not be mean to it!
- The Zu-Field: The Zu-Field, or Z-field, is a potential extraneous field that can exert forces and store energy. It is distorted by heavy Bank accounts and lossy image file formats. Sudden changes in these values may cause chaotic shifts elsewhere, since according to Poe's 3rd Law, all zuzuphonics must be conserved within a closed system.
- Gachazuzacha: Gachazuzacha is an ancient trickster deity of chance. Where it ever does flit, it maximizes odds to the extreme. Even the slightest percentage point of possibility gets dialed up to 100. It can be warded off with delicious puree.
These are not friends of Zuzu, but they appear to embody a similar magnetism. Zuzu does not like being around them and will often hide away in cubbies or nooks if they get too close. This is Zugemu's Zcared Ztate. When Zugie is scared like this, it just needs some time to calm down and be out when it is ready...
During the economic period, Zuzu will sometimes get up to hijinks and shenanigans including but not limited to playing, having fun, and eating a delicious tasty treat.[yummy] Zuzu also moves to a random bank account at the end of the economic period. The Divine Goddess must record these activities as She would with trade actions and token plays. She must also provide a status update on Zuzu's mood during the challenge analysis.

History
Tales
It, it is said, is said that the truth lies[deep...] (somewhere in the middle (or in the beginning.... read the first word of this sentence![official])).[dubious ] We hope you consider these Zugemian tales and draw your own conclusions.[Hark! Hear our stories three, of Zuzu the free!]
The Stony Pumpkin

Call me Ishmael. Some years ago—never mind how long precisely—having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world, whence I was beckoned by a most peculiar sight: a brilliant stone, guarded by a mothering seal on the rocks.
The animal immediately became defensive of its treasure, threatening me with growls and charges. I deftly dealt with the beast with a simple blow to the head and made off with its prize. Aboard my vessel I closely examined the OddRock, upon when I was struck by an unsettling realization: it resembled a pumpkin. I uttered my curses at it and deposited the petrified gourd overboard—where it settled at the bottom of the sea, never to be seen again.[wrong]

Before long, the stone was but a memory ... I took to the sea once again. It is a way I have of [having fun]. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; ... and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from [killing everyone in the building]—then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. But I found no solace here, for my vessel had run afoul of the current and smashed into a weeping mass of oceanic debris. What I found instead, concealed by a tangle of algae, was none other than the stone.
Its eroded face—or, rather, what remained of it—slid clean off, revealing the treasure that lie within: a pearl, encased in a peachy flesh. But it was not a pearl, no—it was an egg, and no sooner did it hatch into a kindly sail,[official] its eyes utterly devoid of bereavement. Why? Don't you hate me? Don't I deserve your resentment? The relenting sail did not answer. With a squinch and a flop, it squeaked its first words:
“ | Zuuu...Zuuuuu | ” |
And it swam away, never to be seen again.[wrong]
The Extraordinary Redberries
No mascot is complete without an accompanying, tantalizing source of delicious inspiration! One such story tells of the mythic redberries, whose vibrant crimson appearance makes them a no-brainer for such appetizing aesops.
In ancient folklore (c. 1700), the sail (of which Zugemu is but just one, no?) was said to be the protector of the delicious redberries. Redberries, it is said, were once greatly abundant, decorating open prairies and dense jungles on every continent and island. However, once man discovered fire and color theory, he associated the burning brightness of the redberries with the tantalizing sting of the wicked flame. So man did gather almost every redberries, squeezing them into tiny embers and discarding the nutritious pulp. Redberries disappeared from the view of the open sky and, eventually, from the public knowledge...
However, it is written that on the Briny Shore, inside a secret damp cave, the last of the redberries remain, guarded by a precious Zuzu.
TheZugemuSkeptic999's response to Extraordinary Redberries
It seems quite odd to me that any sail, let alone Zugemu Zr., would have a special connection to this, what did you call it... redberries? Truly, it seems absurd! I will go as far as to say that redberries never existed in the first place. If these so-called redberries did, in fact, exist, then where are they? It just seems awfully convenient that they've retreated into a single briny shore's secluded cove. If anyone has even an iota of proof that this cave exists, I will personally donate 99999 shares to LovelyFablez.com, spare no expense to find this alleged redberry patch, and see the last Zugemian Sail with my own eyes!

Tokenization
However it happened, someone caught a photograph of the darned thing, allowing it to enter the popular culture zeitgeist. These photos were circulated over chat messenger programs, image boards, forums, e-mail, and locally distributed flyers. This "New Age of Fables", as the historian Ian Histor explains in Stones in Fruit Art Book (2009), spread knowledge of the Zuzu exponentially. Many online communities adopted the Zuzu as their mascot, identifying with different aspects of the creature; its origins, its appearance, and its new-age relevancy. TIME-Burger magazine named the Zugemu Sail as its "Phenomenon of the New Millennium to Look Out For" in 1999. This meteoric rise in notability was followed quickly by a "New Dark Age of Fables", wherein basically no one GAF about the Zu. Most online encyclopedias deemed it not notable enough, relegating it to the realm of player-elimination centric encyclopedias to pick up the slack. Here, the Zugemu Zr. found new life as a token.[3]

Uckinzuzu
Uckinzuzu (Japanese: オケンズーズー okenzuuzuu; affectionately, uckyzuzu) is a game of a secret genre developed by Doga Studios. Okinberries are the main collectible and the end goal of the game is to make an okinberry pudding batch. The gameplay is like Bombastic or Aqua Aqua. A large gameplay mechanic is ucketing your eepa. The name is derived from ucket, okin, and... zuzu. It was bought by Sealon Musk in 2023 and subsequently died, but then later revived with the help of the likes of The Wiki Camp 2 Union.

Mascot
Now that you know everything, it is self-evident[duh] that the wiki Zuzu represents everything that Wiki Camp 2, The stands for. From its dubious origins involving an anchor, to its free-access nature and web-hosting schemata. Thankfully, much cartoon stock art exists of the Zugemu Zr., allowing for the Camp to simply steal one of these designs and recolor it to match the wiki's team colors.
Misuse
Before using Zugemu Zr.'s likeness in your work, you should be sure to follow these branding guidelines:
DON'T add gradients.
DON'T personify.
DON'T add elements.
DON'T use metaphorically to suggest a sail. It's not a sail; it's a symbol (official) of The Wiki Camp 2. Bitch
Counterplay
Thankfully, Zugemu Zr. is slated to enter the public domain on January 1, 2025, allowing anyone to use his likeness in a non-transformative manner.
