The Special World is a bizarre, colorful location, and the introduction of Super Luigi as a playable character. Here, chunks of the other worlds coalesce, forming "remixes" that are harder, tighter versions of their parent world. Each remix is only available after 100%ing the world it's based on. After completing all remixes, the final, ultimate challenge appears at Champion's Road.
Even though it's the first of the bonus worlds to be reached, some sections are only unlocked after clearing bonus worlds that come after it.
