Eclipse is an alternate game mode that adds stacking challenge modifiers to successive runs. Each Survivor Competitor starts at Eclipse level 1 0, where playing Eclipse mode as that Survivor will have the first of the modifiers shown below. After successfully completing a run, that Survivor's Eclipse level will increment (up to a maximum of 8), and the next modifier will be added to future runs (in addition to all the modifiers from lower Eclipse levels).[stolen from the Risk of Rain 2 Wiki][1]

Eclipse is activated following the first play of a Blessed Penny.pngBlessed Token, which is considered the 0th play. The 1st player of a Blessed Token will have the first level of Eclipse applied, the 2nd play the second level of Eclipse, and so on and so forth. Failure to beat Eclipse will make you Category: Autoeliminated (official) alongside Category: Stupid (official).

Eclipse as a mechanic can only be ended when a player beats Eclipse 8.

By Eclipse 8, the modifiers will be as follows:

  • Placement requirement: >60%
  • Score modifier: x0.9}
  • Penalty multiplier: x4
    • Penalties taken from ALL pages.
  • Teammate placement requirement: >75%

The first person to beat Eclipse 8 will be rewarded with literally nothing right now.
