Tohoku Kiritan (東北きりたん) is a Vocaloid[not really] vocal synth character and a young rising star in the magical field. She first debuted on UTAU alongside her older sister Tohoku Itako, and has since been ported to several other programs for speech, singing, and voice conversion. Kiritan, and the rest of her family, are named after the Tohoku region of Japan, with Kiritan having an additional namesake in the large kiritanpo floating behind her. She is also one of the main characters of the anime musical Zunda Horizon.
Appearance
Kiritan wears similar traditional Japanese attire to her older sisters Zunko and Itako, but is much shorter and younger than both. Her eye color is a gentle red, and her hair is dark, typically depicted in a maroon or carmine tone, and arranged in short twintails, similar to Natsuki Karin. Her twintails are ornamented by blades, contributing to her high weapon count; Offical illustrations depict these in a meaningful way, but others tend to simplify these closer to a quarter of a circle. Behind her are two large kiritanpo, of about two thirds of her height.
Kiritan also has an alternate dress style, in contemporary clothing with a rose-coloured dress and similar cardigan leaning towards peach.
Magic
Kiritan is a proven magic user, primarily aligned to the modification and destruction branches, but not exclusively. While she frequently practices forms of creation, those are most often via standard means much more mundane. She practices a low-power field of everyday magic, but has practice in high-density physical skills as well. Her profile of usage is reserved and controlled, bordering on innate and automatic most of the time. In extreme situations, she has proven able to wield her kiritanpo as cannons, though is equally equipped for other forms of combat with a peaceful demeanor typically.
The rest of her family is equally or more favorably skilled in magic, with Zunko possessing a bow and her Zunda Arrow, Itako knowing the most arcane fields of low-power magic, and Zundamon being adept at anything within the Modification circle.
Hobbies
Kiritan is a gamer, able to easily compete with or best Yuzuki Yukari. Kiritan has favorable tidings with Chance, but lacks the connections that Yukari has through Kizuna Akari's alliance with Miles Better, leading to Kiritan's swift defeat in a pure game of chance if Akari is ever called upon. She can be found in many commentary videos on YouTube and Niconico.
She is also friends with Otomachi Una, and is within close reach of Kaai Yuki, the Kotonoha sisters, and many others due to the vocal synth circle's close-knit nature.
