Chromista are polyphyletic eukaryotic organisms, containing DNA and organelles, that may either contain a single cell or multiple cells. The kingdom of Chromista is only proposed, but the referendum is still ongoing. Chromista are defined by their plastids containing chlorophyll c and surrounded by four membranes.
