The Rube Goldberg machine is one of the most satisfying things in the world. It performs a seemingly simple task, such as serving cement, in a very complicated manner using a variety of inanimate objects. This is not to be confused with a Rude Goldberg machine, which performs seemingly simple tasks in a very disrespectful manner, or a Ruby Goldberg machine, where everything is red.
When you really think about it, you can turn such objects to your own object show cast.
