The Computer (Occupation)

Hey, did you know that the original description of "computer" referred to the operators of the earliest machines that were capable of computing? The first computer scientists and programmers were therefore women, because computing was seen as a secretarial job. It's only until Bell Labs revolutionized computing as a field that it became a male dominated field, since it was seen as a science, and I need not go over the sexist nature of academia when it comes to science and technologies.
