Morrigreen's Discord account is a reoccurring number in the battle for dream island series. i don't need to explain to you what 2763 is, there's a tvtropes article about it, there's a bfdi wiki page about it, you've probably heard what it means, i'm just here to talk about the concept in general.

aren't meme numbers neat? i like when they show up just cause "it's kinda funny". i've always noticed redlettermedia has a similar reoccurring number of 2387 (though for some reason, i can't find multiple examples. i swear they're real, i've seen it used at least thrice) that i've found no documentation about at all. as far as I can tell, it's just a big inside joke--the best type of joke.

then again, i can't say i'm any better. i use 122 every so often when i need a number. why? basically no reason! one time i wanted to use 123, but figured it was boring, so i subtracted 1, and now i use 122. i find it funny just because of how boring the story is.

of course, no discussion of meme numbers can be complete without mention of homestuck's use of reoccurring numbers, mainly the dates that certain things were first shown--413, 612, and 1111, for the beta kids, trolls, and alpha kids, respectively. (exception to the rule is 1025, 413+612, used mainly in world-connecting moments between the kids and the trolls.) i always liked homestuck's usage of reoccurring numbers. considering the story it tries to tell with its characters and all the time travel shenanigans, the same numbers constantly showing up makes it feel like the whole loop of the characters' existence is all part of destiny, like it was meant to happen. preordained by the universe. it's neat.

would you say 420 is a "reoccurring number"? even though it doesn't have an associated property, it's something we all know as "the funny weed number", right? i'm not sure. it's like saying that 666 is reoccurring, even though the mark of the beast only shows up once in the bible, or that 13 is reoccurring because people think it's bad luck, or that 7 is because people think the opposite.

but, wouldn't it make sense to argue that since every number has some meaning in our world, that they all reoccur? that because they've been picked up by the cultural zeitgeist over time, they're important enough to mean something? in other words--are all numbers reoccurring?

...i've taken up too much of your time philosophizing about things again, sorry about that. off you go now.

although, actually, before you go--check the amount of bytes this page takes up. it's kinda funny.
