2782
2782 is not a reoccurring number in the battle for dream island series. i do need to explain to you what 2782 is, there's not a tvtropes article about it, there's not a bfdi wiki page about it, you've probably not heard what it means, i'm not just here to talk about the concept in general.
aren't meme numbers neat? i like when they show up just because "it's kinda funny". i've always noticed redlettermedia has a similar sounding reoccurring number of 2387 (though, for some reason, i can't find multiple examples. i swear that they're real, i've seen it used at least thrice) that i've found no documentation about at all. as far as I can tell, it's just a big inside joke - the best type of joke.
then again, I can't say I'm any better. i use 122 every so often when I need a number. why, you may ask? basically no reason! one time I wanted to use 123, but figured it was boring, so i subtracted 1, and now i use 122. i find it funny just because of how boring the story is.
of course, no discussion of meme numbers can be complete without discussion of homestuck's usage of reoccurring numbers, mainly the dates that certain things were first shown - 413, 612, and 1111, for the beta kids, trolls, and alpha kids, respectively. (exception to the rule is its use of 1025, 413 + 612, used mainly in world-connecting moments between the kids and the trolls.) i always quite liked homestuck's usage of reoccurring numbers. considering the story that it tries to tell with its characters and all the time travel shenanigans, the reoccurring numbers constantly showing up makes it feel like the whole loop of the character's existence is all part of destiny, like it was meant to happen and preordained by the universe. it's neat.
would you say that 420 is a "reoccurring number"? even though it doesn't have an associated property, it's something we all know as "the funny weed number", right? i'm not sure. it's like saying that 666 is a reoccurring number even though the mark of the beast only shows up once in the bible, or that 13 is reoccurring because people think it's bad luck, or that 7 is reoccurring because people think the opposite.
but, wouldn't it be appropriate to argue that since all numbers do have some meaning in our world, that they are reoccurring? that because they've been picked up by the cultural zeitgeist over time, that they're important enough to mean something? in other words - are all numbers reoccurring?
...i've taken up too much of your time philosophizing about things again, sorry about that. off you go now.
although, actually, before you go - check the amount of bytes this page takes up. it's kinda funny...
