Explain/The Wiki Camp 1
The Wiki Camp was a different website with a different set of rules, and because of this you may see content that violates The Wiki Camp 2's Blacklist. Keep this in mind when clicking links. |
The original Wiki Camp was hosted on the terrible, awful website Wikia (now known as Fandom) by The Supreme Empress. It started on February 24, 2020, and was eventually cancelled on October 7 after a long hiatus. Though the camp did not last long, pretty much everyone involved agreed it was a good time.
There were only four challenges created for The Wiki Camp 1, which are as follows:
- Create a page for your contestant.
- Create or add yourself to a team.
- Create a wiki page for a fake episode of some kind.
- Create a tweet — that is, a page that is 240 characters or less in length. (Satomi later posted the entries as a Twitter thread, confusing everyone.)
Despite the inherent constraints of Wikia, such as its lack of plugin support, there were still many fascinating pages, such as Sudoku games, a Geocities website, and whatever [BONK] was.
Some contestants return from The Wiki Camp 1, such as Cake pop!!!!!!!!!!!!! and Slime. There were many edits created after the camp was closed or after the opening of its sequel, though as you can imagine, they are few and far between.
Death and Eulogy
Eventually, in the tail end of 2024, The Wiki Camp was removed from Fandom completely for unknown reasons. While it is assumed to be for breaking Fandom's content policy, we will most likely never know for sure.
Tangibly, The Wiki Camp is survived by seemingly arbitrary pulls on the WayBack Machine, an archive of (all but 2) images, an archive of all the page data, and pages that have been ported to The Wiki Camp 2.
More importantly, The Wiki Camp is survived by its ideas. Despite most people agreeing to never look at it again, many Wiki Camp jokes, stories, and characters have made their way to The Wiki Camp 2, finding new life in some shape or form. Even after its slow death, it will always have been The Wiki Camp to The Wiki Camp 2.
If you ever make a wiki, please, for the love of Pete, never put it on Fandom.
