The yidaki is a ceremonial Indigenous Australian instrument traditionally made from a eucalyptus tree hollowed by termites. Players of the yidaki use a technique called circular breathing, which is essentially when you continuously breathe out while sporadically breathing in. The yidaki produces a deep drone that accompanies ceremonial songs, alongside clapsticks. Other drone instruments include bagpipes (one pipe), aulos, and tanpura.
