An attempt to [[Rocky|transition to 3D]] was made. However, adapting Wordle's iconic 2-dimensional gameplay to an open world proved difficult. Luckily, a fan created a prototype, recorded it, and got it trending on [[Reddit]] and even received a [[NerpaPunch#Awards|Golden Punchy]]. Wordle hired this man, but the cost of development quickly exceeded budget, as the game's Wordle tiles were composed of 500,000 polygons each. The game briefly saw hope for continuation after receiving a large grant by an esteemed author, artist, adventurer, and billionaire, but this quickly fell through after the donor realized it was not a [[sudoku]]-based grid game and thus ceased funding.

The anonymous user was later banned for harassment.
