DUDE. THIS IS MIKE AND SPIKE, REPORTING LIVE FROM THE WIKI CAMP 2.

WHILE MICHAEL AND I WAIT FOR THE DIVINE GODDESS TO WRAP UP JUDGING, WE’VE DECIDED TO GO AROUND AND INTERVIEW THE CAST OF THE COMPETITION.

Today our special guest is Diary, better known to some of you as starlightDP, the formerly unbeaten Smash champion who had an oh-so very unfortunate loss at COLOSSES 2022.

SO DIARY, HOW DID SUCH A BUSY DUDE LIKE YOU DISCOVER THE WIKI CAMP?

I first heard about it at that tournament, actually.

That rectangle… thing. The guy I lost to. I overheard it talking about the first Wiki Camp competition which it apparently participated in.

Hearing about the competition… the amount of players, the exciting challenges, the grand prize of CLOUT… I was honestly a bit curious.

So, a few weeks later, after I was ready to go online again following my loss at COLOSSES, I looked up “The Wiki Camp”, and by chance I discovered that signups for a second competition had just opened.

I decided to give it a go. I had literally nothing better to do. I was one of the first ones to sign up.

Very fascinating story. You know, Endermain and I go way back. That damn template would keep foiling all of my plans to make the Wiki a better place. But now that I don’t have to put up with him anymore, I’ve managed to make The Wiki Camp 2 the most awesome sequel in existence. Now we have more players, more teams, and more stylin’ pages, all thanks to me, baby!

ANYWAYS, WHAT MADE YOU QUIT SMASH SO EASILY? AFTER JUST ONE LOSS? I’M SURE YOU COULD’VE GOT YOUR STREAK BACK EASILY IF YOU KEPT GOING.

It wouldn’t be worth it.

Obviously, as the champion I was the most well-known figure in the Smash community. I was also by far the most controversial.

I would lurk in a lot of discussion forums and chats about upcoming tournaments, and a lot of people would dread my participation. There were a lot of people out there who really wanted me to lose.

But, unfortunately for them, I kept winning and winning.

The moment I lost however, the crowd cheered. It was probably the loudest crowd I’ve ever heard in my entire career. It felt humiliating. To have my first ever loss be to a Steve main.

The story was all over the news. I couldn’t go out in public without being laughed at, for losing to some kid who loves Enderman. This was something I wouldn’t be able to simply recover from with another streak of victories.

I see The Wiki Camp as an opportunity to regain my successful reputation, this time within a new community. I came to compete and win with the prize of CLOUT in mind.

A real clout-chaser, aren’t you?

ANYWAYS, TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR TIME HERE SO FAR. ANYONE YOU’VE FORMED A BOND WITH?

Yeah, I was able to start my own team with Nurse Cap. She got me into Third Strike.

The team we made was going well until it got merged with three other teams at once and a certain someone refused to unmerge them.

Now, Ry, we’ve been over this already. We can’t have multiple teams with the same name, that’s just silly.

Whatever.

It was nice to meet even more people through the merge, I guess? I was excited to see LiSt there, one of the composers of Hexstallia. I had no idea he was even in this camp. Small world.

THAT REMINDS ME, HOW CONFIDENT ARE YOU IN WINNING THIS CHALLENGE DESPITE THE MAJOR CHANGE?

I’m not sure. To be honest, I’m pretty confident that we’ll lose. And I’ll be pissed if we do. Because it wasn’t any of our faults.

Boo-hoo. You guys had like, what, three days to make your page look better. And you did nothing about it. That’s on you.

Hey, give her a break. This entire wiki has been around for two whole months, and it looks equally as atrocious!

By the way, I totally think Diary cheated in Smash. I have the nastiest Link in the world and I keep losing to her Sheik, who’s only supposed to deal like, 1% damage every attack.
