Depths of Lake Baikal
If there's one thing to know about Lake Baikal other than the presence of the hideous nerpas, it's that's deep. Real deep. Like, 5,300 feet deep. And those depths are scary, perhaps even scarier than what lies on the surface. Sailors have ventured onto lake baikal, only to be dragged below by some unknown horror. Numerous wrecks of ships litter the lake bed, and many more appear to be crewless despite all evidence pointing against that notion.

Additionally, the pressure at these depths is crushing. Doing some quick googling, I found out that at 5,000 feet underwater you'd be under the weight of 150 atmospheres. Whatever lives here must be very resilient, strong, and vicious. Only terror lies beneath the ice. Perhaps the seals are indeed the best part of this lake...
What am I saying? of course the seals aren't the best part of this lake! They're ugly! I think I need to take a break...
