The negative view of cars in The Wiki Camp 2 goes long before it even started, as Satomi has a long-standing hatred for cars.

On October 20, 2022, Gsn1vy made a joke relating to adding another lane to highways so they can increase traffic, which, in fact, is a dumb idea. This would later lead to pages Car and JUST ONE MORE LANE BRO, which share the same joke.

On October 27, 2022, SMW posted a picture of Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, which seats 78,297 fans, adding that it would be nice if Wiki City's stadiums and arenas would be like this. This goes after he saw a comparison of what surrounded both Santiago Bernabéu and the 82,500-seat MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets. The difference was that the stadium in Madrid had building surrounding it, as opposed to just parking lots around the stadium in New Jersey. It's surprising considering the similar seating capacities of both stadiums.

From that point on, SMW talked about how the United States should have a nationwide high-speed rail network, similar to the Shinkansen in Japan. For your information, there are only two high-speed rail networks in the United States; the Acela in the Northeast, and Brightline in Florida. No high-speed rail network has ever connected, say, New York and Miami, or Chicago and Los Angeles, or any route like that. The only trains that cross the country are Amtrak trains, which seem a little off when compared to trains in other countries. But hey, at least there are new trains on the way.

Back to cars, Arllyhautegoth posted about the concept of adding another lane again, and many people commented on how much space it took and how much traffic would still occur. I mean, adding another lane would only make things worse. Arllyhautegoth then posted a video by the legendary Alan Fisher, which compares cars with trains aka. based vehicles. Next, Gsn1vy posted another stadium, Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, and the parking spaces surrounding it. Jurta said these roads would look nice as a forest or even apartment buildings. After that, SMW posted pictures of Amsterdam and wildlife crossings.

The people mentioned are right. Car-dependent societies are a problem. Firstly, you wouldn't get from your house to McDonald's[1] without walking unless you get a sidewalk. Secondly, think of how much space it would take if all the passengers on a train took the car instead. Thirdly, walkable neighbourhoods are cleaner, less noisy, and overall happier to live in. There are many more reasons why cars shouldn't be our main priority when it comes to transport.

  1. Why would you go to McDonald's??
