Sometimes, game nights have a studio audience and air on TV as game shows.
Game shows that worked
- Catchphrase – say what you see. That's it.
- Des chiffres et des lettres – a well-known institution in France that somehow got cancelled in 2024.
- Countdown – and yet they passed the torch to their cousins across the Channel.
- Family Feud – HUH???
- Game Changer – do I really need to say it?
- Jeopardy! – what is the best game show in the world?
- Lingo – Wordle before Wordle.
- Only Connect – Connections before Connections.
- Pointless – the exact opposite as its name would otherwise suggest.
- Survivor – Total Drama Island before Total Drama Island.
- Truth or Consequences – I mean, look at the town in New Mexico.
- Wheel of Fortune – airs right before Jeopardy! on most stations, but sometimes after.
- You Don't Know Jack – yes, it actually happened.
Game show ideas that would work
- Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics – You'd need a lotta filming space for those games, especially the outdoorsy ones.
- Quiplash – would unironcally go SO HARD.
Game show ideas that wouldn't work
- Balatro with real cards – would use a custom-built deck of cards. Some modifiers can work, including those moments when tarot cards change suits of individual cards, bonus cards, mult cards, wild cards, and possibly lucky cards, so long as there are enough available, however there could also be too little. Glass, steel, stone, and gold cards may still be possible yet challenging. You'd need a lot more cards if you want to add seals to the show, though a nerpa on the loose would be an instant cancellation. And then the hardest challenges would be Foil, Holographic, Polychrome, and Negative.
