The joker is a species of card that has a surprising effect which depends on the breed. There are 150 breeds of joker, making it the most diverse. The highest concentration of Jokers can be found in Balatro, but the just barely semipermeable motherboard has enabled one breed to go beyond.

Joker

Simply put, the Joker is your typical joker, with the only side effects being +4 Mult.

Greedy Joker

The Greedy Joker is one of the four jokers that represent the seven deadly sins, as it is a pig thinking about money. It gives +4 Mult for every card in a Diamond suit played.

[RULE 4] Joker

The [RULE 4] Joker is considered in joker society to be an unofficial patron saint of Valentine's Day. It gives +4 Mult for every card in a Heart suit played.

Wrathful Joker

The Wrathful Joker is furious and willing to attack. It gives +4 Mult for every card in a Spade suit played.

Gluttonous Joker

The Gluttonous Joker's favourite food is medium rare steak. It gives +4 Mult for every card in a Club suit played.

Jolly Joker

The Jolly Joker is as jolly as can be, much like Santa Claus. It gives +8 Mult if the played hand contains a Pair.

Zany Joker

The Zany Joker is zany to the max. It gives +12 Mult if the played hand contains a Three of a Kind.

Mad Joker

The Mad Joker is not as furious as the Wrathful Joker. It gives +20 Mult if the played hand contains a Four of a Kind.

Crazy Joker

The Crazy Joker remembers when, it remembers, it remembers, when it lost its mind. It gives +12 Mult if the played hand contains a Straight.

Droll Joker

The Droll Joker is oddly humorous. It gives +10 Mult if the played hand contains a Flush.

Sly Joker

The Sly Joker is cunning and deceitful. Don't be fooled. It gives +50 Chips if the played hand contains a Pair.

Wily Joker

The Wily Joker tricks its opponents to its advantage. It gives +100 Chips if the played hand contains a Three of a Kind.

Clever Joker

The Clever Joker wants to be in Nine Words of Wisdom. It gives +150 Chips if the played hand contains a Four of a Kind.

Crazy Joker

The Devious Joker is full of surprises. It gives +100 Chips if the played hand contains a Straight.

Crafty Joker

The Crafty Joker can make a DIY house of cards in seconds. It gives +80 Chips if the played hand contains a Flush.

Half Joker

The Half Joker is actually the juvenile form of a Joker. The richness of youth enables this Joker to give +20 Mult if a played hand has 3 or fewer cards.

Joker Stencil

Mastering the art of crypsis, this Joker is nowhere to be seen...! Stencilling is the only way for this Joker to pop out of its burrow. Its solitary behaviour makes it give X1 Mult for each empty slot, the Joker Stencil included.

Four Fingers

This is a notable example of oligodactyly in the video game industry. With this Joker, Flushes and Straights can be made with four cards instead of the traditional five.

Mime

Ah, the classic Mime! Stemming from commedia dell'arte in Italy and Japanese noh theatre, mime has continued to reach new heights, including this very game! This mime retriggers all card held in hand abilities.

Credit Card

After denying one too many times, this Credit Card was ultimately fired from Capital One. Luckily it found its new job as a dealer. In this case, the user can go up to -$20 in debt.

Ceremonial Dagger

Used for millennia, the Ceremonial Dagger is a sneaky Joker that destroys the unsuspecting Joker to the user's right, adding double its sell value to the Mult.

Banner

The Banner is the resident vexillologist. Anatomically speaking, it's one of the longest pennants. It gives +30 Chips for each remaining discard.

Mystic Summit

Rocks, like hard places, are known to be foundational, and even when you slip, they can still sustain you. The Mystic Summit, built from newborn igneous rock, acts as the player's saving grace, giving +15 Mult when 0 discards remain in the round.

Marble Joker

Considered the lost Elgin Marble, the Marble Joker was recently unearthed by archaeologists studying near the Parthenon. This geological curiosity adds one Stone card to the deck whenever a Blind is selected.

Loyalty Card

CardsChat has a secret $5/month subscription service that rewards its new members with a Loyalty Card, brought to them by a fleet of UPS trucks. Though on the outside it looks like a normal Joker, it hibernates every five hands and will give X4 Mult for every sixth hand.

8 Ball

Is it BFB, II, OFA, or BFTROR? Neither! It's actually the ultra wise patriarch of the entire family, and its wisdom enabled it to create a Tarot card whenever an 8 is scored, though the chances of that are 1 in 4.

Misprint

It appears that this one tends to change. This mutation can give the player a high Mult or nothing.

Dusk

As its name suggests, Dusk is a crepuscular Joker. It retriggers all played cards in the final hand of the round.
