The kernel is the smallest food, but not the smallest thing. It is the component of corn.
Behavior
Kernels group together on a branch to keep warm during winter, a behavior known as cobbing. However, kernels will perish under intense heat, where they will explode. Cobbing amplifies sound and improves hearing, hence why they are sometimes known as an ear.
Diet
Kernels eat nothing and believe in nothing. This life of no debts allow them to be truly enlightened. This is known as the kernel of truth.
Economic impact
Kernels account for 99% of the United States food industry, amounting to about 98% of the country's GDP.
Kernels are also important in computer science, where they are involved in some way with an OS.
