Minecraft 2, also known as Hytale, is a sandbox video game released in early access in January 2026 by Simon Collins-Laflamme. It is a sequel to the hit video games Minecraft: Story Mode and Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2. It was originally conceived as Minecraft: Otherworld in 2015 by Engine Software and Re-Logic and was in development hell for 10 years until being cancelled in June 2025. However, it was revived in November 2025 and released by its original creator, Simon Collins-Laflamme. It has been received well by critics, comparing it positively to its predecessor.
