Northeast Corridor Commuter Rail Speedrun
The Northeast Corridor commuter rail speedrun is a speedrun that requires the runner to ride MBTA, Shore Line East, Metro-North Railroad, NJ Transit, SEPTA, MARC, and Virginia Railway Express commuter trains from Haverhill, MA to Fredericksburg, VA or vice versa.
Rules
The run begins upon setting foot on a vehicle while within the first station.
The run ends upon setting foot in the final destination after having set foot in all of the other commuter trains.
There are four areas where the runner may walk or take a bus. Other than that, the only permissible method of transportation is commuter rail. Amtrak trains are not allowed.
Routing
To complete the run, one must make the following trips in the following order or vice versa:
- MBTA Haverhill Line to North Station, Boston, MA
- Walk or bus to South Station, Boston, MA
- MBTA Providence/Stoughton Line to Providence or Wickford Junction, RI
- Walk or bus to New London, CT
- Shore Line East to Union Station, New Haven, CT
- Metro-North Railroad New Haven Line to Grand Central Terminal, Manhattan, NY
- Walk or bus to Pennsylvania Station, Manhattan, NY
- NJ Transit Northeast Corridor Line to Trenton, NJ
- SEPTA Trenton Line to Temple University, Philadelphia, PA
- SEPTA Wilmington/Newark Line to Newark, DE
- Walk or bus to Perryville, MD
- MARC Penn Line to Union Station, Washington, D.C.
- Virginia Railway Express Fredericksburg Line to Fredericksburg, VA
