Yes, I'm doing it. I'm going to list every Techo on Neopets.com, from Alabaster Chesterdrawers to Zombie Techo. ...That's A to Z but with Techos. *ahem* This is gonna require some explaining because otherwise this may not make sense, but just ignore this section if you don't care.

So here's how it works. I will count every Techo that appears in official Neopets media that I can find and list them here. If a Techo appears with distinct traits such as clothing and jobs, have a title or named, I will count them as a character. If they're just a naked nameless Red Techo, they're probably not counted here. User-generated raisable Techos will not be counted as there is no sane way to count all approximately 5 million of them out there. In other words, canon characters only. Additionally, I will be providing notes for Techos. These are:

  • *: This character's name that is listed has never officially been given in Neopets media and is conjectural.
  • °: This Techo character is considered very minor. My definition of a very minor character is typically a nameless character who only has a single appearance in a game or artwork, or if named has a single appearance only without an important role to the general state of the lore of Neopets. This is inherently subjective, however.
  • ^: This Techo character is a mention-only character and does not have any known design or appearance.
  • `: This Techo is fictional within the Neopets universe and does not actually exist.
  • ✝: This Techo character is deceased.

Additionally, I have provided links for each Techo listed to prove their existence. These will typically be image links, but occasionally I will use Jellyneo's resources such as the Item Database and Book of Ages when appropriate.

...Got all that? Okay, let's move on. Here's the list of every single Techo on Neopets.

Raisable Techos

These are the Techos that you care for on Neopets. You feed, dress, cure, and train them to be yours. Nearly all of them can be obtained on Neopets.com, with the exception of Sponge (who was cancelled) and Patchwork (only in Island Builders).

Techo NPCs

Site characters on Neopets that are Techos, and they may also originate from video games, trading cards, and other official media not on the website.

Also, an additional rule: male Techo NPCs will have their text colored orange, and female Techo NPCs will be magenta. Ones that do not have enough sufficent info regarding gender will be green.

The statistics

Okay, so how many Techos are there? There are currently 69 raisable Techos, 2 of which are unobtainable on the normal website, as well as 333 NPCs on Neopets who are Techos. Therefore, there is a total of 403 unique Techos on Neopets.

Also, did you notice how few female Techos there are? Of the 332 NPCs, only 19 of them are female, compared to 226 male Techos. That is only 8.41%! That's only higher than the estimated amount of women within the HVAC industry (estimated to be 1 - 9%). Now that's sad.

In my research, I discovered that most of the Techos on Neopets are from Mystery Island, with Meridell not far behind.

Green is also seemingly the most common color for Techo NPCs.
