Peri watches Dan Vs.
I've always wanted to do a proper binge of this series so I'm gonna make a page watching and reviewing every episode.
Dan Vs. is a show that aired on The Hub and was pretty much the network's most popular show other than My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. For some reason, I always thought it was a Disney Channel show and was also a spinoff of Phineas and Ferb. I've never done a proper watch of the series, so I figured I'd make a sort of watch diary.
Season 1
Dan vs. New Mexico
The first impression I have is that this show definetly appeals to my sense of humor and it feels good. The whole library client cheating on wife thing feels kind of mature for a kid's show. Using hydrogen to inflate the hot air balloons to make Hindenberg 2.0 was certainly a choice. I like the start but I admittedly lose some interest with the whole Area 52-Balloon Cultist parts later on. Still good though!
Dan vs. Wolf Man
Damn, not even a minute in and we already got the show's biggest legacy: "I don't care who the IRS sends, I am not paying taxes". I saw a YouTube comment claiming that this was the first episode and therefore the first joke in the whole show, but they're wrong. Still doesn't ruin how fucking awesome this joke is.
Even after, this episode is honestly way better than the first: We have Dan and Chris going to jail for kidnapping a minor, Dan making an arrowhead out of a silver dollar, golden scenes for me. Also, there's blood in this episode and they say it's blood. And this show aired on the same network as My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Definetly weird, I thought this would have been on like an Adult Swim-esque block and I don't think that existed on The Hub. Best episode so far regardless.
