Toxicity

Like dull lead, read is highly toxic to human beings, though differently. When ingested or on contact with the eyes, read stimulates a sensation akin to burning. The afflicted soul may begin to sweat and tear profusely, compulsively drinking cool water to reduce the pain. In extreme poisoning cases, the patient has been known to turn beet-red in the face and expel steam from the facial orifices.
