The rhino is an absolute unit of an animal—the second-largest on land after the elephant. With a mighty horn made of keratin, the same protein behind hair, it has the ability to flip a car to its roof. The word rhinoceros comes from the Greek term for nose horn.

The horn of a rhino is very tough, and inflicts 5 damage on the player.

Five rhino species currently exist. Of these, two—white and black—are in Africa (of which they are one of the Big Five, one of the more iconic quintets) while the other three—Indian, Javan, and Sumatran—are in Asia. Their closest relatives are equines—horses, donkeys, and zebras—and tapirs.

Rhinos are the most abundant of the larger enemies in the Jungle World. As fearsome as a bull, they knock out unsuspecting Bramballs in their way when charging towards Super Mario.
