Rod Serling
Rod Serling (December 25, 1924 – Present day, if God loved us) was an eccentric TV and film writer known for creating The Twilight Zone as well as a fucked up science fiction planet.
TV and Film

In 1959, Serling created The Twilight Zone. Originally a show about the tormenting psychological training of an astronaut before he was to enter the titular "Zone," the plot was completely scrapped by Episode 2, when Serling decided he wanted to make a show about a dying salesman instead. This plot was also immediately scrapped.
It is unknown why Serling scrapped all his ideas, but rumors suggest that it was because he had low self-esteem, which caused him to fire any actor who could beat him at arm wrestling.
By season two, this led to the making of The Twilight Zone into an anthology series, an idea that had never been had ever, especially in the realm of radio.
The Twilight Zone ran for five seasons total. There was also a movie. There was also another movie. There was also a reboot. There was also another reboot. Episodes of The Twilight Zone often covered themes of the human condition, bigotry, war, the creation of a fucked up science fiction planet, and various scenarios Serling found fucked up and crazy.
Aside from Twilight Zone, Serling worked on plenty of films, such as Planet of the Apes (which included his fucked up science fiction planet) and Night Gallery.
Planet Creation
Rod Serling was better known for his creation of the fucked up science fiction planet. He created this planet when he thought about the planet he lived on and thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be fucked up if astronauts came here thinking it was an alien planet, but it was our planet all along." And he was so right for that.
Many people love to meme on the fucked up science fiction planet without attributing it to Serling. These people are evil and should not be trusted.
