A sandwich is any meal that consists of a filling sandwiched between two breads. Sandwiches are usually born as squares, before mitosing into triangles.
Variations
- Burger
- A burger is a sandwich that is circular, with the breads called buns, and the filling typically a patty. Subvariants include hamburger (beef), cheeseburger (cheese), chicken sandwich (chicken), slider (small), and sloppy joe (ground).
- Submarine
- A sub (a.k.a hero, hoagie, grinder) is a sandwich that is long and pill-shaped, with the breads sometimes being connected along an edge. Subvariants include cheesesteak (cheese steak) and meatball sandwich (meatball).
- Grilled
- A grilled sandwich has its breads cooked on a grill or other branding apparatus. Subvariants include grilled cheese (cheezy) and the Cuban.
