Tastes are the elements of flavor. Every flavor is merely a combination of magnitudes of these basal tastes.
Tastes
The basic tastes all start with "S" which is just so awesome for a guy like me.
| Taste | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Sweet | Sweet is sugary and saccharine. Things that are sweet are typically a tasty treat. It is the leader of the flavors. |
| Sour | Sour is sharp and sucking. Sour things, like lemons, limes, and sour candies, can be fun, but are usually just gimmicks. |
| Spicy | Spicy is singing and searing. Spicy feels like hot. It makes you sweat, which looks like sweet, but is pronounced differently. |
| Savory | Savory is satisfying and steaky. It is also called umami, like how people call it Dungeon Meshi instead of Delicious in Dungeon. |
| Salty | Salty is salty and salty. Basically just salt tastes like this. It makes you want water. |
| Starchy | Starchy is sticky and stuffy. It's in bread and potatoes. It's the filler arc of flavors. |
| So Bitter | Bitter is bad and bullshit. It is designed to be spit out, lest you be poisoned. Dark chocolate is a known poison. |
| So Minty | Minty is cold and chilly. It is the opposite of spicy. You may get a brainfreeze. |
| Stale | Stale is simple and sinless. It is the null flavor of air and water. It can dilute the other tastes. |
