Tilcayo

The tilcayo (Leopardus tilcayo) is a small cat native to Bolivia and the first new species of its family to be dropped in 103 years (since 1923, with the introduction of the Pampas cat). At 46 centimetres long and weighing in at a mere three pounds, it's smaller than the average domestic cat. Tilcayos and similar-looking species called "tiger cats" are so-called cryptic species, and may actually be more so than a crossword across the pond, as their appearances can easily deceive.
