Bats are the fabled cherubs of the Cave World and the only mammals capable of sustaining flight. They sleep upside down from the ceiling (or, to an extent, tree branches). Bats comprise around 20% of all mammalian species and can be traditionally divided into the fruit-eating megabats and the echolocating microbats.
Criticism
Bats are traditionally seen as a symbol of Halloween, especially vampire bats. American children are not to be scared, however, as vampire bats inhabit South America.
