The lalafly is a blood-sucking pest often found swarming above lakes and harbors. Lalaflies, despite being insects phylogenetically, exhibit many seal-like traits, such as cringiness and being okinesque.
Behavior
Lalaflies are a nuisance, congregating in massive swarms. They viscously bite larger animals, such as seals and humans, to extract blood, their most favorite food. Strangely, lalaflies do not appear to need blood to survive, as most of their caloric intake comes from their other source of nutrition, air. For this reason, they are considered ontologically evil.
Range
Lalaflies are endemic to Lake Baikal, but have flourished in areas they have been introduced to as an invasive species. Notable lalafly populations exist in Lake Ladoga, Saimaa, and the California coast.
